Case study: A training session on unacceptable behaviours in the workplace

Employment Service - training case study

Our client, an NFU Employment Service member within the Insurance industry, contacted us following a news article in the Employment Service newsletter. It discussed a case of McDonalds workers experiencing sexual harassment.

Thinking about their own employee welfare, our client was keen to think about protecting their own staff and business. NFU Employment Service training was an ideal first step, equipping them with the understanding and confidence to know the best course of action to take in a similar scenario.

Our support:
Our client describes: "After agreeing we needed to ensure training was given in this topic, we contacted NFU Employment Service. Sanjay was really helpful in putting a quote together, and Lara and Karen delivered training in two sessions to our management team and wider staff.

"They were excellent and it was really good to have them visit the business to deliver some of the material face-to-face.

"They were friendly and approachable, and their knowledge and experience meant they were able to talk through so many examples and scenarios and answer all our difficult questions about how to handle certain behaviours or hypothetical incidents.”

The outcome:
"Our management team left the session feeling confident we could deal with instances of unacceptable behaviours that might arise in future.

"We had good feedback from our staff after their session, too, that the session, material and message was clear.”

Finally, our client also commented on our unlimited-use helpline, which comes as standard as part of NFU Employment Service membership.

They explained: "The helpline is such a handy resource and is a bit of a lifeline when unforeseen issues arise. It feels like you always end up speaking to someone who is an expert on the area at-hand."

We're delighted we could support our clients teams to feel much more confident in dealing with unacceptable behaviours within the workplace – and ultimately creating a happier workplace for their employees.
