1. The Vento Guidelines

The Vento framework originated from the landmark Court of Appeal decision in Vento v Chief Constable of West Yorkshire Police (2002). These guidelines provide a standardized framework for tribunals across England, Wales, and Scotland, to quantify non-financial losses. Compensation for discrimination and whistleblowing detriments is uncapped. Injury to feelings awards are evaluated completely independently of direct financial losses like loss of earnings.
